An unmatched local circular economy model
We don’t simply collect and then trade recyclable materials. We work hard to maximise the resources we recover through our sorting operations to re-use within our own, local re-manufacturing divisions… converting these materials into new sustainable packaging products again.
The products that Visy then make are primarily recoverable again for sorting, processing and re-manufacture back into new packaging products.
Linking recycling and manufacturing
The ‘Linking recycling and manufacturing’ model helps demonstrate how materials placed in the recycling bin can be re-made back into new products, which, once no longer needed, can again be recycled and re-manufactured.
This model is core to the idea behind closed-loop recycling and the circular economy: that the materials and resources we use in our day-to-day lives can be re-manufactured and reused… over and over again.
Recycling by name,
re-Manufacturing by Nature
Investing in local recycling and sustainability
Our ongoing, strategic investments in manufacturing plants, MRFs and technology are part of our long-standing commitment to the local recycling industry – from finding innovative ways to collect, sort and process discarded materials, to our strong focus on re-manufacturing sustainable packaging products made from recycled content.
We’re constantly innovating and investing in state of the art technology across our business, including at out MRFs. These investments deliver upgrades in material detection and sorting to remove waste, increase the quantity of recycling sent for processing, and improving the quality of materials recovered for use again.
We are relentless in our pursuit to find better ways to rethink what others see as waste and to re-manufacture sustainable packaging from materials that are recycled and recyclable.
Now that’s a better way to recycle.
